. The Eurostep interns work on the following areas including general administrative tasks:
Future of EU development co-operation:
- Monitor discussions on the Future of Europe and the role of EU development co-operation
- Maintain timetable of events
- Keep secretariat staff and membership informed of progress
- Provide inputs into the Eurostep Weekly newsletter
- Coordinate Members Task Group
Programming of European aid:
- Monitor discussions on the programming of European Community aid to 2 regions:
- Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Countries (European Development Fund).
- Southern Mediterranean, Southern Caucasus and Eastern Europe (European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument).
- Maintain timetable of events
- Maintain websites on EC aid programming
- Keep secretariat staff and membership informed of progress
- Provide inputs into the Eurostep Weekly newsletter

EU diplomatic service
 The Lisbon Treaty seeks to make the EU more effective on the world stage. The European External Action Service (EEAS) will be the EU's own diplomatic service. Proposals for establishing this service have been published by Baroness Cathy Ashton, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy ( see proposals). These proposals would bring much of the Commission's capacity for development into the diplomatic service, raising concern about the future role for the EU's development. In response to two legal opinions on the legitimacy of the proposals Eurostep sought a further legal brief to examine the issue. See legal brief
