Brussels, 24 October 2007. The European Commission should seek European Parliament scrutiny of the EU's country strategies for the African, Caribbean and Pacific regions. In a letter to Commissioner Louis Michel Eurostep says that the credibility of the EU's aid strategies for ACP countries will depend on their scrutiny by appropriate democratically elected Parliaments. In Europe this has to be the European Parliament as it has a budgetary powers. On the ACP side this should the national Parliament should be involved. see letter
