West Papua delegation in Brussels to talk human rights |
This week, a delegation of four representatives from West Papua, representing both the Justice and Peace commissions (SKP) from the dioceses of Merauke and Jayapura and the Protestant Church (GKI Papua), will be in Brussels. They will attend a parliamentary briefing at the European Parliament on Wednesday the 15 May from 10.30-12.30 as well as bilateral meetings with representatives from the European Institutions and civil society. The parliamentary briefing discussion will focus around three topics: Decentralisation's impact on human rights defenders: the case of Merauke, Torture and the Environment. |
