To put weight behind your arguments, use the at least morally binding conventions and declarations that have been agreed on internationally. And don’t forget to follow them in your own practices..
Right to Social Security - Article 22 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
"Everyone has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international cooperation."
Right to an Adequate Standard of Living - Article 25
"Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and the well-being of himself and his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services."
Right to Participation - Article 21 in the UDHR andArticle 7 in the
Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women
"Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives."
"..ensure to women, on equal terms with men, the right: (b) To participate in the formulation of government policy and the implementation thereof (c) To participate in non-governmental organizations and associations concerned with the public and political life of the country. "
